Exciting Updates:

Vern and Karen Harpole have agreed to be the co-leaders of the Lyle Movie Night, and will be contacting you this week to learn the particulars... how to run the projector, movie selection process, when, where, how, etc.

They will also be forming a team that hopefully includes students who can help with movie selection and audio/visual technical support. By having a team approach, that includes students, we are hoping to expand the school-community integration beyond just the showing of the movie, but also during the coordination that occurs to make the program possible.

Vern will also be doing the 10 yard markers at the football games, and Harry Moss would love to be involved in the volleyball judging... he coached the national Marine Corps team for many years.

Julliet Pouillon has expressed interest in leading a Community Garden group. She suggested not only a Community Garden.. but a Lyle Garden Club... maybe the Community Garden could be a project of the Lyle Garden Club... Thoughts? Interest? The garden club could deal with such issues as setting up your own green house, heated hummingbird feeders, tropical plants, native plants, garden sculpture, etc.

Please post comments and interest on this blog.
